Passiac County’s Project SEARCH

Many students with disabilities are faced with grim employment prospects as they transition to life after high school. At Banyan School, a state-approved private school in Little Falls, educators are preparing to launch Passaic County’s Project SEARCH, a nationally and internationally acclaimed employment program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Banyan School, a leader in the area of transition services for students with disabilities, will be among a select few of innovative schools in the state of New Jersey to launch the program, and will be working in partnership with Chilton Medical Center, as the host business, and with local Job Placement Agencies, including: the New Jersey Department of Labor’s Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, the New Jersey Department of Human Services’ Division of Developmental Disabilities, The Arc of New Jersey, and the New Jersey Travel Independence Program (NJTIP) – Rutgers.

Chilton Medical Center is ranked the top mid-sized hospital in northern-Jersey with an “A” safety rating, for the past five years. They bring to the community the latest in treatments and expert patient care. They are able to bring this type of care to the community, because of their award-winning medical professionals.
